Schools

The Village of New Windsor is part of the Sherrard Community Unit School District #200.  Elementary students, grades preK-4, attend Winola Grade School located in Viola, Illinois, 7 miles west of New Windsor. Grades 5 and 6 attend Matherville Intermediate School located in Matherville, IL, 13 miles northwest of New Windsor. Grades 7 - 12 attend Sherrard Jr. /  Sr. High School located in Rural Sherrard, IL, 14 miles northwest of New Windsor.  The School District provides bus service to and from all schools with serveral convenient pick up and drop off locations throughout the village.
